Don’t respond to the first objection
It’s the easiest one to say out loud.
If someone pushes back on your idea and says it’s too expensive… or it’ll take too long… or they don’t think it’ll work…
Your instinct is usually to answer immediately.
Next time this happens…
Stop yourself. Don’t respond. Instead, say:
👉 “Tell me a bit more about that.”
👉 “What are you thinking?”
👉 “You sound concerned.”
People often work out what they really mean as they continue talking. Give them the space to do that.
So stop responding immediately.
Find the real objection first. And then respond to that.
