So if you need someone to remember something important, don’t just give them the facts.
Tell them a story.
Think of a real example that brings your point to life.
Perhaps something went badly wrong.
Perhaps a client had a problem.
Perhaps someone tried something differently and got a surprising result.
And then tell the story. Tell people what happened. Tell them how everyone reacted. Tell them how it ended.
Try to keep your story short. And make sure there’s a clear reason for telling it.
Stories make information more interesting, more emotional and far more memorable.
So don’t just make your point.
Tell the story that proves it.
