Next time someone finishes speaking, don’t say anything.
Pause. Hold eye contact. Let the silence sit.
That silence can do three things:
👉 It gives the other person space to add more
👉 It shows you’re not rushing to respond
👉 It helps them think more deeply about what they said
People often reveal their real thoughts in that extra moment.
But if you jump in too quickly, you cut that off.
So resist the urge to respond quickly. Stay quiet for a few seconds.
Stop filling every silence.
