Just do one simple thing:
Define everyone’s target outcome.
Ask yourself what you want the other people to do, think or feel by the end of the meeting? This is your target outcome.
Next, ask yourself what they want to do, think or feel as a result of meeting with you? This is their target outcome.
During the meeting, take an equal stand for both.
Don’t allow the meeting to end without other people achieving their target outcomes.
And don’t allow it to end without you achieving your target outcome.
