Imagine someone says one of these phrases:
👉 “I hear what you’re saying, but…”
👉 “You’ve got a point, but…”
👉 “I don’t mean to be a downer, but…”
It’s pretty likely that they don’t really like what you’re saying, that they don’t actually think you’ve got a point and that they’re about to be a downer.
Try removing ‘But’ from your vocabulary.
Even better, make today a No But Day.
You can still put forward your opinion if you don’t agree with someone. Just do it without a ‘But’.
