That’s how you get the best out of people.
When you do praise them, get specific about their effort and intentions. What have they given up to do the things they did? Don’t just focus on the result – that’s far less motivating.
And don’t forget to dish out constructive criticism when appropriate. It’s how people learn and grow. Just get your 5 positive interactions in first.
